⭕️ Press Statement

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has closely monitored the recent joint statement issued by the White House and eighteen nations calling for the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza. We express our disappointment that the statement failed to address fundamental issues affecting our people, who endure the horrors of a genocidal war. It notably omitted the urgent need for a lasting ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of the occupation forces from Gaza and left other crucial matters ambiguous.

We reiterate our willingness to consider any proposals that genuinely address the just aspirations and rights of our people. These include a sustainable ceasefire, the full withdrawal of occupation forces, the unconditional return of the displaced to their homes across Gaza, comprehensive reconstruction efforts, an end to the blockade, and the provision of essential humanitarian aid. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of progressing towards a meaningful prisoner exchange agreement as part of our quest to secure the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people, including self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

We urge the US administration, the signatory countries, and the international community to expose the heinous genocide perpetrated by the Zionist enemy against innocent children and civilians in Gaza. It is imperative to urgently pressure for its cessation and to counter the policies of the terrorist Netanyahu, who risks regional stability for personal gain and to cater to his extremist allies who hinder any attempts to reach a just agreement that halts the aggression and facilitates the return of prisoners and captives.
